Craig McCaffrey Craig McCaffrey has not been seen Friday night

Concern is growing for the safety of a 24-year-old man who has not been seen since leaving a fancy dress night in Glasgow dressed in a gorilla costume.

Craig McCaffrey was last seen at about 20:45 on Friday after leaving the party with his brother and two friends in Eglinton Street.

He was seen heading in the direction of Bridge Street.

Police said his disappearance was "completely out of character" are keen to trace him as a matter of urgency.

Mr McCaffrey is described as white, 6ft tall, of medium build, with short black hair, brown eyes and was clean shaven.

He has a tattoo on his left forearm which says Craig, a shamrock on his right forearm, the word Celtic on his right upper arm, and a dragon on the left side of his chest.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a gorilla costume - without the head section - a black Gio Gio jacket, with a green and white jacket underneath, and red shoes with a white V symbol on them.

Police have carried out an extensive search of the local area in Glasgow's south side.

Officers have also made door-to-door enquiries, checked CCTV images and spoken to family and friends in an effort to trace Mr McCaffrey.

Insp Angela Carty, of Strathclyde Police, said: "Concern is growing for Craig's safety as his disappearance is completely out of character.

"I would ask that anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts, to contact their local police office as a matter of urgency.

"I would also ask if he is able, that Craig himself contact police to assure us that he is OK."
