Pedestrian, 76, killed in crash on Hillhead Road in Glasgow

An elderly pedestrian has been killed and a driver has been seriously injured in a road crash in north Glasgow.

Strathclyde Police said the 76-year-old man died at the scene after being struck by a car on Hillhead Road, near Robroyston, at about 11:30 on Friday.

The 44-year-old man who was driving the car was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The road was closed between Auchinairn Road and Wallacewell Road to allow for accident investigations.

Police appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
