Man found dead in Partick tenement doorway

A man has been found dead in the doorway of a property in Partick, Glasgow.

Police were called to Chancellor Street in the early hours of Saturday morning after reports of the man lying by the tenement building.

The 46-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.

Strathclyde Police said inquiries were under way to establish what happened.

Det Supt Michael McCullagh, of Partick CID, said: "We are carrying out extensive inquiries including going door-to-door.

"The man had his dog with him, which is a bull mastiff type, and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the man or his dog in and around the Chancellor Street area to come forward, or anyone who has any information to contact officers."
