Identity appeal after woman found on a Clydebank street

Police are trying to identify a woman found unconscious in a Clydebank street.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Old Street at 06:20 BST and found the woman lying on the pavement.

She appeared uninjured and had no handbag or purse with her. She was taken to Glasgow's Western Infirmary where she remains unconscious.

Strathclyde Police appealed for information from anyone who may know who the woman is.

Officers said she is aged between her late 40s and early 50s, is about 5ft 6in tall and of medium to stocky build, with straight brown or auburn shoulder-length hair.

When found she was wearing a purple Hi Gear waterproof jacket, a blue and white blouse with black leggings and black shoes.

She was wearing a watch with a white leather strap and a gold ring.
