Thomas Mill, 49, named as victim in Troon house fire

Fire scene Firefighters entered the property after reports of someone trapped inside

Police have released the name of a 49-year-old man who died in a house fire in Troon, South Ayrshire, overnight.

Thomas Mill died at the scene of the blaze in the town's Bentinck Drive.

Emergency services had been called out at about 00:15 to reports that someone may be trapped in the ground floor of the two storey building.

A joint police and fire service investigation into the cause of the blaze will be carried out. There appear to be no suspicious circumstances.
