Appeal to drivers after Ian Brown's hit-and-run death
Police investigating the death of a man in a hit-and-run incident in South Ayrshire believe two motorists may hold information vital to their inquiry.
Ian Brown was found dead on the B734 Dailly to Girvan road at about 03:05 on 28 July.
The 48-year-old was struck by a vehicle while walking home to Dailly after a night out at Girvan bowling club.
Police said they wanted to speak to the drivers of a dark "old style" Land Rover and a silver/grey saloon car.
The Land Rover was seen on the B734 near to Old Dailly at about 22:30 on 27 July.
'Out of character'
The saloon was seen on the same road in the early hours of 28 July.
Sgt Jackie Dunbar, of Strathclyde Police, urged the drivers of both vehicles to come forward.
"I believe they may have witnessed something that may help with our investigation," said Sgt Dunbar.
"I would also ask the public to think if they know someone who has been acting out of character since Saturday 28 July 2012.
"I have no doubt that someone has information which can help our enquiry and help Mr Brown's grieving family.
