Two men are to stand trial accused of the murder of a teenager in Inverclyde.

Kevin McIntyre, 27, and Steven McIntyre, 19, are charged with killing 17-year-old Jack Doyle in Antigua Street, Greenock, on 3 January.

The allegation includes a claim that they repeatedly struck him on the head and body with knives.

Both accused denied the charges against them during a preliminary appearance at the High Court in Glasgow. Trial was set for September.

Kevin McIntyre faces separate charges of assault and both are accused of possessing a knife without lawful authority.

Steven McIntyre is further alleged to have attempted to defeat the ends of justice.
