A man has been detained by police after armed officers surrounded a taxi on a busy North Lanarkshire road.

The 29-year-old, from West Norwood, London, was stopped on the A80, between Cumbernauld village and the Castlecary Hotel, on Friday morning.

He is accused of failing to comply with his bail conditions.
