Natasha Paton death: Probe into fatal school bus crash
Natasha Paton died in the crash near Biggar in South Lanarkshire
A fatal accident inquiry will be held into the death of a teenage girl in a bus crash on a school trip.
Natasha Paton, 17, was killed after a coach carrying 39 pupils and five staff from Lanark Grammar School crashed during a snowstorm in March 2010.
The bus hit a bridge and went into a river on the A73 near Biggar, South Lanarkshire, on 31 March 2010.
A date has yet to be set for the inquiry. No prosecutions are being sought over the case.
Natasha, from Cleghorn, South Lanarkshire, was on a trip to Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire when the accident happened.
The driver lost control of the vehicle on a bend during treacherous conditions on the A73 at Wiston.
The bus collided with a bridge and tumbled down an embankment where the front end came to be submerged in the river.
A Crown Office spokesman said: "Crown Counsel have instructed that a fatal accident inquiry should be held into the death of Natasha Paton who died at Biggar on 31 March 2010."
