Troon lifeboat rescues man drifting on Clyde in dinghy
The man may have been drifting for a while before the Troon lifeboat was called
A man has been rescued on the Firth of Clyde after abandoning his boat when it caught fire and sank.
The Troon lifeboat was launched at about 19:30, after Clyde Coastguard received reports of a distress flare being seen.
The lifeboat crew found him drifting in a dinghy. It is thought he had been in it for some time.
The man was taken to shore suffering from smoke inhalation and suspected hypothermia.
