Ross Hind admits possessing fake gun near Celtic training camp

The incident saw armed police attend Celtic's training ground

A 20-year-old man has pleaded guilty to causing a firearms incident outside Celtic's training ground at Lennoxtown.

Ross Hind admitted a charge of having an imitation firearm near the ground in East Dunbartonshire last May.

The gun alert came around the same time that Celtic manager Neil Lennon had been the target of parcel bombs - including one sent to Lennoxtown.

Sentence on Hind was deferred for reports at Glasgow Sheriff Court and his bail was continued.

Hind, of Milton of Campsie, was one of two men and five women arrested over the incident, which saw armed police called to Celtic's training ground.

He was joined in the dock by Gary Booth, 18, and 22-year-old Katrina Henderson, who also faced the same allegation.

Mr Booth and Ms Henderson walked free after prosecutors accepted their not guilty pleas.

It is believed proceedings were previously dropped against the remaining four people.
