Craig Whyte funds letter 'not worth paper it was written on'
Former Rangers FC chairman Alastair Johnston said a proof of funds letter, which Craig Whyte's lawyers sent to the club, was not worth the paper it was written on.
Mr Johnston also told a BBC documentary he had not previously seen the correspondence which was sent from Mr Whyte's lawyer, Gary Withey, to the Murray Group.
Mr Whyte eventually bought Rangers, which is now in administration.
Businessman Mr Johnston said he would have wanted greater proof of financial fitness than that which was given.
Rangers: The Men Who Sold the Jerseys was broadcast on BBC One Scotland on Wednesday 23 May, and will be available afterwards for one week on the iPlayer.
