Man charged with murder after death of Robert Brown

A 30-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man died from injuries in hospital at the weekend.

Robert Brown was found at a property in Lindum Crescent, Motherwell, North Lanarkshire at about 02:00 on Sunday.

Strathclyde Police said the 37-year-old was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he died a short time later.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court, Sean McLaughlin was charged with murder and breach of the peace. He made no plea or declaration.

Mr McLaughlin, from New Stevenston in North Lanarkshire, was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court again later this month.
