Stabbed man 'fighting for life' after Wishaw attack

A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed during an attack by up to six other men at a house near Wishaw.
The 26-year-old was repeatedly stabbed at about 01:00 on Friday at the house in Gowkthrapple, North Lanarkshire.
He was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he underwent surgery. His condition is described as critical.
Police are treating the attack as attempted murder. The six suspects, who are all white males, fled from the house after the attack.
Det Ch Insp Pat Campbell of Strathclyde Police, said: "This was a horrific attack which has left the victim fighting for his life.
"The man had gone to the house sometime after midnight when he was confronted by the group of males.
"They repeatedly stabbed him before fleeing the scene. I am anxious to speak to anyone who was in the area and heard a disturbance or saw the group of males running from Heathfield after 1am this morning."
