Two in court after man has ear bitten off in Glasgow KFC attack

Two people have appeared in court after a 28-year-old man had part of his ear bitten off in a fast food outlet.

The victim needed surgery after the incident in KFC, in Glasgow's Renfield Street, at about 23:00 last Friday.

James Leat, 20, and Scott Simmonds, 19, were charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment.

The case was continued for further examination at Glasgow Sheriff Court and both men were released on bail.

Mr Leat is also charged with possessing a controlled drug.
