Man, 66, struck by van in Johnstone 'critical'

A 66-year-old man is in a critical condition following a road crash in Johnstone, Renfrewshire.

The man was struck by a White Mercedes Sprinter van while crossing the town's Dimity Street, at its junction with High Street, at 12:30 on Thursday.

He is being treated in the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.

The 61-year-old van driver was not injured. Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
