Funeral held for Gadloch accident victim

The funeral has taken place of a man who died trying to rescue a dog from a frozen loch last month.

John McAllister was killed when he fell into the freezing water of the Gadloch in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire.

Mr McAllister, 37, went after his family's pet dog when it disappeared into the water.

His funeral was at Daldowie Crematorium. His family asked those attending to make donations to the Dogs Trust charity.
