Police name victim of Neilston road accident

Strathclyde Police have released the name of a man who died after being struck by a car in Neilston.

He was Gavin Currie, 25, who lived in the East Renfrewshire town.

He was hit by a Ford Mondeo as he crossed Main Street, outside the Killoch Bar, at about 22:15 on Wednesday.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where he died two days later.

The 42-year-old woman who was driving the Mondeo was not injured. Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash.
