A murder investigation into the death of a 36-year-old woman in East Renfrewshire has been closed after the body of her neighbour was found.

Strathclyde Police launched the murder probe after Lynne Small was found dead in her flat in Addison Grove, Thornliebank, on 26 October.

Her neighbour Charles Walker, 52, had not been seen since two days earlier.

Mr Walker's body was found near Whitecraigs Golf Club on 21 November. His death was not suspicious.

Strathclyde Police said that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ms Small's death.

A report on the circumstances has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
