Three rescued by firefighters from Glasgow flat

Three people have been rescued after fire broke out in a ground-floor flat in the Hamiltonhill area of Glasgow.

Firefighters from Cowcaddens and Springburn fire stations were called to the scene at 12:30 on Saturday.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said the fire was quickly extinguished and three people rescued from the property.

One woman is being treated for burns and the effects of smoke. The two others were taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

Specialists from Strathclyde Fire and Rescue's Incident Research and Investigation Section and Strathclyde Police have started work on establishing the cause of the fire.
