Woman, 65, dies in Darvel house fire
A woman has died after fire broke out at a house in Ayrshire about 16:30 on Tuesday.
Strathclyde Fire and Rescue crews from Kilmarnock and Newmilns attended the fire, on West Main Street in Darvel.
Firefighters with breathing apparatus searched the house. They found the 65-year-old in a bedroom but were unable to save her.
A joint investigation has been launched by Strathclyde Police and the fire service.
