Richard Kane jailed over drugs find in Greenock flat
A man who was caught with illegal drugs - with an estimated street value of £81,600 - at his home in Inverclyde has been jailed for 13 months.
Richard Kane, 43, was found with 100 diazepam tablets outside his tenement flat in Greenock in June.
When officers raided his home they found quantities of cannabis, amphetamine, diazepam and TFMPP pills.
At the High Court in Edinburgh, Kane pleaded guilty to four charges of being involved in supplying illegal drugs.
The court heard how he was caught after plain-clothed police stopped him outside his house.
They had received intelligence that someone was dealing drugs from the tenement where he lived.
Officers decided to raid his property after finding that he was carrying diazepam tablets.
Inside, they found a stash of illegal drugs, a hidden set of scales, a quantity of cash and equipment which Kane used to package the illegal substances.
Police also discovered chemicals which were used to prepare the drugs for consumption.
