Jon Wilson Jon Wilson died in hospital a day after the attack near Queen's Drive

A second man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 13-year-old schoolboy in Kilmarnock two weeks ago.

Jon Wilson, from Gateside Place in the town, was left seriously injured following an incident near Queen's Drive.

He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he later died.

Police said a 21-year-old man has now been arrested. A 16-year-old has already been charged with murder.

The 21-year-old is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
