Glasgow boy, 16, charged with incitement

A teenager from Ibrox in Glasgow has appeared in court charged with encouraging others to riot in the city.

Alexander McQuarrie is accused of breaching the peace by creating a group on the social networking site Facebook.

The 16-year-old is alleged to have conducted himself in a disorderly manner by "inciting others to riot" on 12 August.

He made no plea or declaration at Glasgow Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.

In a separate case, 18-year-old Liam Allan appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of using Facebook to encourage people to riot in Dundee.
