Entertainer John Barrowman to be honoured by RSAMD

John Barrowman John Barrowman will receive the honour in July

Scots-born entertainer John Barrowman is to be honoured by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD).

The Doctor Who and Torchwood star will receive a Doctor of Drama at the academy's graduation ceremony in July.

The same honour will go to actor, writer and producer David MacLennan, who was behind the Lunchtime Theatre concept, A Play, A Pie and a Pint.

Scots singer Moira Anderson and soprano Judith Howarth will also be honoured with a Doctor of Music.

The ceremonies will take place in the RSAMD in Glasgow on 5 July.
