Police have traced a prisoner who absconded from Castle Huntly open jail almost three weeks ago.

Ian Lennox, 32, failed to return to the prison on 26 March after a period of home leave.

Following an appeal for help from the public, Lennox was located and arrested in the Strathclyde area.

He was jailed for eight years and three months at the High Court in Glasgow in 2008 for assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Tayside Police said Lennox was expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday.
