An iconic Salvador Dali painting depicting Jesus on the cross has returned to Scotland.

The Christ of St John of the Cross spent six months in the US after being loaned to a museum in Atlanta for an exhibition on the artist.

It is due to go on show again at its permanent home in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.

The painting is being relocated within the attraction to enhance its display.

It has left the UK six times since it was bought for Glasgow's collection in 1952.
