Motorcyclist dies following crash

A man has died after his motorcycle came off the road in East Ayrshire.

The 33-year-old man suffered serious injuries when his Suzuki motorbike left the A736, near Lugton, at about 1520 BST on Thursday.

He was taken by air ambulance to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow but died shortly after admission.

The man's name will not be released until relatives have been informed. Police have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.
