Police appeal after man assaulted on Edinburgh street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted on an Edinburgh street.

A 26-year-old was attacked by three other men at about 08:15 on Saturday at the junction of Granton Mill Road and Granto Mill Place.

Local officers responded after receiving a report that three men were attacking a male in the street.

The injured man was then taken to St John's Hospital for treatment having sustained serious facial injuries.

Larger group

The suspects are described only as white, 20-30-years-old and of average height and build.

They are believed to have been part of a larger group of males and females who were seen in the area at the time.

Constable Neil Marr said: "The victim has sustained some very painful injuries to his face, which required medical attention, and we are now trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding this attack.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, or who has information that can assist with our enquiries, is asked to contact police immediately."
