Baseball bat robbers steal shop till

Two men armed with a baseball bat robbed a shop in West Lothian on Friday afternoon.

The men entered the Glenmore Mini Market in Whitburn at about 15:45 and made off with the shop's till, before dropping it outside and fleeing.

A 60-year-old woman was taken to St John's Hospital in Livingston for treatment as a result of the incident.

Det Sgt Grant Paterson said the woman was badly shaken by what was "a frightening and serious episode".

He said: "An investigation is under way to ascertain the full circumstances and our officers have been carrying out enquiries in the area."

The first suspect is described as white, in his 20s, between 5ft 5in and 5ft 9in, of slim/average build and with short, brown hair.

It is understood he was wearing either a green camouflage jacket or bottoms and had a scarf covering his face.

The second suspect is described as white, in his 20s, about 5ft 9in, and of slim/average build.

He is believed to have been wearing a black, grey and white camouflage jacket, with trousers of the same design and also had a scarf covering his face.
