Fatal A92 lorry driver named by police

A lorry driver who died after being hit by a passing vehicle on the A92 in Fife is named by police.

Robert MacLellan, 65, from Tain in Ross-shire, had been parked in a lay-by between the Crossgates and Cowdenbeath junctions when he was struck.

The accident, which happened at about 13:15 on Monday, closed the eastbound carriageway for almost nine hours while an investigation was carried out.

Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
