Man charged over Connor Cleave street stabbing in Methilhill

A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed in the street outside his Fife home.

Connor Cleave, 17, died in the early hours of Tuesday following the alleged attack in Simon Crescent, Methilhill.

Jamie Wishart appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with offences relating to the death.

He is accused of murdering Mr Cleave, assault, assault to injury, breach of bail and having an offensive weapon.

Mr Wishart made no plea or declaration during a brief private hearing on petition.

The case was continued for further examination and he was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing next week.

Police were called to the scene on the outskirts of Methilhill at about 02:10 on Tuesday.

Mr Cleave was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy but was pronounced dead shortly after.
