Three arrested over racist attack in Edinburgh

Three men have been arrested after what police described as a racially-motivated attack in Edinburgh.

An Asian man was said to be seriously ill in hospital after the incident at Downfield Place in the Dalry area of the city at about 02:00 on Sunday.

Police said they were carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area and urged any witnesses to come forward.

Two of the men who were arrested are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

The third is expected to appear at a later date.
