Man arrested after Edinburgh bank robbery

Royal Bank of Scotland on St John's Road A four-figure sum of money was stolen from the Royal Bank of Scotland on St John's Road

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged bank robbery in Edinburgh.

Police said thousands of pounds were stolen in an incident at the Royal Bank of Scotland on Edinburgh's St John's Road at 09:30 on Monday.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged.

He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later.
