Tynecastle Arms Firefighters were called to Tynecastle Arms in Gorgie Road just before 13:30

Ten drinkers have been evacuated from an Edinburgh pub after a fire broke out in a cupboard.

Firefighters were called to Tynecastle Arms in Gorgie Road, which is on the ground floor of a four-storey building, just before 13:30.

One 56-year-old man suffered smoke inhalation after trying to tackle the fire and was taken to hospital.

Crews used breathing apparatus and a high pressure hose reel to fight the fire.

The damage was contained in one room but other areas were smoke logged.

An investigation has now been launched into the cause of the fire.
