Men sought for post office armed robbery in Edinburgh

Two men who carried out an armed robbery at a post office in Edinburgh are being sought by police.

The incident happened at 13:10 at the Duart Crescent post office when a customer was robbed of a three-figure sum at knifepoint.

The men, who were white and in their early 20s, made off towards Dochart Drive.

They had hoods and a tan substance or tan tights over their faces. One was in a grey hoodie and jogging bottoms.

Det Insp Rory Hamilton, of Police Scotland, said: "This has been a frightening experience for the customer as well as the staff in the post office.

"If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident or recognises the description of the suspects, then they should contact police immediately."
