Three puppies stolen from a house in Midlothian are being sought by police.

The three Labrador puppies were stolen from a house in Gorebridge along with a Honda 500 quad bike worth £6,000.

The theft of the £500 dogs happened some time between 22:00 on Sunday and 07:45 on Monday when a barn was forced open.

The three puppies are male and 10 weeks old. Two are pure black and one is golden with a lighter shade on its two front legs.

Insp Michelle Ritchie, of Police Scotland, said: "The owners are obviously very upset about the theft of these 10-week old puppies and we are appealing for people to be on the look out for Labradors that match this description.

"Similarly if anyone recognizes the description of the quad bike or has any information that can help with our inquiries, then they are urged to contact police."
