Father and son hurt in unprovoked attack in East Lothian

A father has been left with a smashed cheekbone and eye socket after being attacked by seven men as he walked home with his son in East Lothian.
John Ferguson, 47, was attacked by the gang during an unprovoked assault outside a British Legion Club in Longniddry at 00:15 on Sunday.
Andrew Ferguson, 18, was also injured as he tried to protect his dad and suffered a black eye.
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in East Lothian are investigating after two men were assaulted by a group of males in Longniddry.
"The incident happened at about 00:15 on Sunday 26th January outside the British Legion Club, on Elcho Road.
"A 47-year-old sustained a facial injury and was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he was released after treatment. Another man suffered a minor injury."
"Inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding this attack are ongoing and anyone who can assist officers with their investigation is asked to come forward immediately."
