Police investigate sex attack in Edinburgh

Police are investigating after a woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault in Edinburgh.

The attack happened on Tuesday evening in the Silverknowes area of the city.

Police Scotland said officers in Edinburgh had carried out inquiries in the area after receiving a complaint of a serious sexual assault.

A spokeswoman said: "Police are following a positive line of inquiry."
