Man arrested after drugs seized in Midlothian

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged after drugs with an estimated street value of £45,000 were seized from a Midlothian house.

A search in Woodburn Avenue in Dalkeith on Thursday found drug dealer quantities of cannabis.

Then a search of a house in Salters Road found more than two kilograms of cannabis and four kilograms of amphetamine were found.

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later.

Insp Michelle Ritchie, of Police Scotland, said: "Police in Midlothian continue to remove harmful drugs from our communities and will robustly deal with anyone found to be involved in their production or distribution.

"Anyone wishing to report drug crime in their local area can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, make an anonymous report via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
