A thief who threatened a worker before robbing a West Lothian beauty salon is being sought by police.
The incident happened at the VIP Nails & Beauty Salon in East Main Street, Broxburn, at 17:50 on Thursday.
The man made off from the shop with a two-figure sum of cash. He was last seen running along Greendykes Road.
Officers are now conducting local inquiries and have appealed for witnesses to come forward with information.
The suspect was described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, 5ft 9ins tall, of thin build, with short dark hair and a thin face.
He was wearing a dark top, dark jeans and spoke with a local accent.
Det Con Peter Budd, of Police Scotland, said: "This was a very frightening experience for the young staff member, though, thankfully, she wasn't injured.
"Nevertheless, she has been left badly shaken and we are now keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in or around the store on Thursday evening.
"Similarly anyone who recognises the description of the suspect and believes they can help us locate him is also asked to contact police immediately."
