Police appeal over suspicious fire in West Lothian

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious house fire in West Lothian.

The fire broke out in Dee Drive in Livingston on Wednesday.

The house was empty at the time, however neighbouring properties had to be evacuated as a result of the blaze, which gutted the property.

Det Con David Macmillan, of Police Scotland, said: "The house has been destroyed as a result of the blaze, which we suspect of being deliberate."

He added: "We are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Dee Drive from around 19:00 on Tuesday to 02:50 on Wednesday, when the fire was reported, to contact police.

"Anyone else who has information that they think can assist our inquiries should also get in touch."
