CCTV appeal to trace man over Edinburgh assault

CCTV images of the man police want to trace Police hope someone may recognise the man from the CCTV images

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to trace in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh.

A 19-year-old man was seriously injured in an unprovoked assault at the Silk Nightclub in Kings Stables Road on 29 December last year.

Police have been following a positive line of inquiry and want to trace a man seen in CCTV footage.

Anyone who recognises the man or anyone with information about the attack is urged to contact police.

Det Con Richard Creanor said: "This was a vicious unprovoked attack on an innocent member of the public trying to enjoy a night out with friends.

"The male in the CCTV footage is of interest to the inquiry and anyone who recognises him is asked to contact police immediately."
