Cyclist in hospital after Musselburgh crash
A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after a road crash in East Lothian.
The 59-year-old man was involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen Polo on Musselburgh High Street at about 21:30 on Friday.
He is being treated for serious head injuries at Edinburgh's Western General Hospital, police said.
The 19-year-old female car driver was unhurt. Police have urged witnesses to contact them.
Pc Murray Haldane from Police Scotland said: "An investigation is under way in order to establish the circumstances, and we are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the collision, or the pedal cyclist prior to the collision."
