Gang sought over robbery in Edinburgh home

A gang of three men who robbed a man in his own home in Edinburgh are being sought by police.

The man, who is in his 50s, was alone in his house in Wester Drylaw Place when he heard a knock at the door at about 15:30 on Sunday.

When he answered the door, he was forced back inside by the men, who robbed him of £170 and a laptop computer.

The victim received minor injuries. Police are appealing for witnesses.

Two of the men were then seen running up a footpath leading to Wester Drylaw Drive.

The thieves were all white, about 5ft 10ins tall, aged 20-to-23 years old, and were wearing cotton hoodies, one grey, one black and the other an unknown colour.

Det Insp Stuart Harkness, of Police Scotland, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim and we are keen to hear from anybody who has any information or recognises the description of the suspects."
