A man knocked down in a hit-and-run in West Lothian is being treated in hospital for a broken hip.

The 37-year-old was hit by the car, described as a black or silver 4x4 jeep or people carrier, at about 23:45 on Saturday in Livery Street, Bathgate.

The vehicle was travelling east on the road at the time.

Police Scotland has appealed for witnesses.
