Body found in search for missing girl near Dalgety Bay

The body of a young woman has been found by police who have been searching for missing 16-year-old Sofie Neill.

Officers made the discovery in the Braefoot Bay area near Dalgety Bay, Fife, on Thursday afternoon.

Police Scotland said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

Det Insp Graham Seath, who is leading the investigation said: "Our inquiries are at an early stage and the body has still to be formally identified."

The last sighting of Sofie was on Wednesday afternoon when she was seen walking from Dalgety Bay to Inverkeithing.
