Man injured escaping from Tranent house fire

A man has suffered burns to his hands and face, and a broken leg, as he escaped from a house fire.

Fire Scotland said the man appears to have jumped from the two-storey mid-terraced house in Tranent, East Lothian.

Firefighters from Tranent, Musselburgh and Haddington were called to the fire at about 23:40 on Friday.

They managed to extinguish the flames but the property is reported to be "severely damaged".
