Arrests over smoke canisters at Dunfermline v Alloa football match

Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with smoke canister offences at a Fife football match.

The pair are due to appear in court over the offences at Sunday's Dunfermline v Alloa football match.

A 14-year-old is to be reported to the Children's Panel in connection with a similar offence at last week's Dunfermline match against Forfar.

Insp John Lawson, of Police Scotland, said: "I am disappointed that my warning went unheeded."

He added: "The season might be over, but we will be requesting Football Banning Orders against those convicted of offences involving carrying or using smoke canisters."
