Man dead in Edinburgh garden after window fall

A man has been found dead in an Edinburgh back garden after falling out of a top-floor flat window.

Mark Paterson, 32, from Dalkeith, was found with fatal injuries at the back of Inverleith Row flats at about 14:10 on Tuesday.

Mr Paterson was carrying out work on a window when he fell to the ground. The Scottish Ambulance Service pronounced him dead at the scene.

Lothian and Borders Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

A report will be sent to both the procurator fiscal and the Health and Safety Executive.
